At Another Wave Records, we believe the surf and exotica scene is at its best when we lift each other up. That’s why we’re launching Friends of Another Wave — a special corner of our shop dedicated to bands we’re not signed with, but truly believe in.
These are our friends out in the water: independent surf outfits from around the world making killer music and pressing small-run vinyl that deserves a wider audience. We’re simply helping them get their sound into more hands — no contracts, no cuts, just community.
🌴 What It Is
Think of Friends of Another Wave as a record rack for the greater surf family. We’ll stock a few copies of select albums from our friends, handle the shipping, and feature them on our site so you can easily discover and support more great artists in the scene.
Every cent (beyond basic shipping) goes right back to the bands — this is purely about giving them a boost and helping the surf community stay connected through wax.

Independent surf music has always thrived on collaboration over competition. Whether it’s trading vinyl across continents, sharing stages at Tiki Oasis, or swapping riffs over email, it’s all about the same energy — passion, authenticity, and aloha.
